I unironically, genuinely believe Evangelion is one of the best series of media ever created. I know how this is going to sound like a copypasta troll post but I think it's probably the only thing not in text format that could rank among the classics.
It's doesn't have a consistent high quality like the works of popularly and controversially acclaimed greats of film (Kubrick, Tarkovsky, Kurosawa, Hitchcock, more reddit-tier "great directors" like Tarantino, Spielberg, Coppola, Nolan, Del Toro etc.) and it's at some times literally no different than other weebshit, but the highs it reaches are so astronomically… high…. and profound that I think it really is the only postmodern work that can even parallel the ancients.
