The revelation of this meeting—a defensive briefing—was discovered in the document release from the made-up Russia! Russia! Russia! Collusion hoax. The progenitor of the scam, disgraced spook hunter, Charles McGonigal, who retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2018, before he was thrown in prison for taking unreported money and consorting with Russian oligarchs and Albanian politicians, had meetings with Hillary Clinton’s legal team, including her fixer David Kendall, in 2015.

After McGonigal left the FBI he worked for a man whose name you might know, Oleg Deripaska. He also illegally took money from an Albanian leader.

Deripaska is a Russian oligarch who wanted the former FBI agent to spy on his opponents. The oligarch also employed Paul Manafort, who ran the nominating convention for Trump in 2016, before he was thrown in jail. And perhaps most tellingly, Deripaska had indirect ties to former MI6 spook Christopher Steele, the guy who cobbled together memos and napkin scrawls which later became known as the Steele Dossier. This collection of claptrap known as a “dossier” was peddled by other entities, such as Clinton's attorney Michael Sussman, because it sounds spy-like, and became the basis, along with lying to the court, for FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign and later, the Trump presidency.

Russian and Ukrainian representatives will hold direct talks in Ankara next week, CNN Turk has reported, citing sources in the Turkish Defense Ministry.

Delegations from the two countries will meet to discuss security in the Black Sea, the outlet said in an article on Sunday.

The meetings will take place onTuesday and Wednesday at the Turkish Naval Forces headquarters in Ankara, according to sources.

During talks between Russian and US experts in Riyadh in late March, it was agreed to move towards reviving the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which according to the Kremlin, should include the removal of Western restrictions against the Russian Agricultural Bank and other financial institutions involved in the international sale of food and fertilizers.A maritime ceasefire is seen by Moscow and Washington as a step towards the diplomatic settlement of the Ukraine conflict.

The Black Sea Grain Initiative, originally brokered in July 2022 by the UN and Türkiye, envisioned the safe passage of Ukrainian agricultural products in exchange for the US and EU lifting its restrictions on Russian grain and fertilizer exports. Moscow withdrew from the deal a year later, citing the West’s failure to uphold its obligations.

Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelensky claimed earlier that Kiev rejected a maritime truce due to it representing “a weakening of positions and a weakening of sanctions” against Russia.

US President Donald Trump confirmed last month that his administration is considering lifting some curbs on Moscow in order to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative, saying that “there are about five or six conditions. We are looking at all of them.”

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen ruled out relaxing EU restrictions on Moscow, insisting they should “remain in effect until a just and lasting peace is established in Ukraine.”

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the maritime truce could take effect only when certain conditions set out by Russia are met.“Of course, this time justice must prevail, and we will continue our work with the Americans [on the Black Sea Initiative],”Peskov stressed.

Kremlin teases potential Putin-Trump meeting

“We need to prepare for it,” spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said, following US envoy Steve Witkoff’s talks with the Russian president on Friday

A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump “will take place,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has confirmed,while stressing it would be “at the appropriate time.”

Peskov made the remarks to reporter Pavel Zarubin on Sunday. His statement follows Friday’s meeting between Putin and Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff in St. Petersburg. The Kremlin said the talks covered “aspects of the settlement of the Ukraine conflict.”

“The presidents expressed their political will that [the meeting] should take place, including publicly. But it will take place at the appropriate time, we need to prepare for it,” he added, without specifying a timeline.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that Witkoff’s trip this week was part of Trump’s broader effort to negotiate a ceasefire.“This is another step in the negotiating process,” she explained. Witkoff’s visit came soon after Russian presidential aide Kirill Dmitriev met with senior Trump officials in Washington.

In March, Putin and Trump held a phone call that reportedly lasted for over two hours. In that conversation, Trump proposed a 30-day mutual ceasefire, including a halt to strikes on energy infrastructure. Putin supported the idea and gave the corresponding orders to the Russian military.

During the call, the two reaffirmed their commitment to achieving a “lasting peace”rather than a temporary solution to the Ukraine conflict. Moscow stressed the need to “eliminate the root causes of the crisis,” as well as meet “Russia’s legitimate interests in the area of security” and “the complete cessation of foreign military aid and the provision of intelligence information to Kiev,” as fundamental elements necessary for an agreement, the Kremlin press service said.

Ukraine again ‘unilaterally’ attacks Russian energy infrastructure – MOD

Kiev’s forces are repeatedly violating the US-brokered truce banning such strikes, according to Moscow’s Defense Ministry

TheUkrainian military has targeted two energy facilities in Russia’s Belgorod Region over the past 24 hours, the Defense Ministry in Moscow has said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin accepted a proposal by his US counterpart Donald Trump to adhere to a 30-day pause on targeting energy facilities operated by Kiev and Moscow during their phone call on March 18.

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky also said that his country would abide by the truce. However, the Russian military has since accused Kiev’s forces of breaching the partial ceasefire on an almost daily basis.

“In violation of the Russia-US agreement,Kiev continues its unilateral attacks on Russian energy infrastructure,”the ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

On Saturday evening,more than 600 households were left without electricityin Belgorod Region’s Shebekinsky District of as a result of the “deliberate shelling” of a local energy facilityby Ukrainian forces, the statement read.

On Sunday morning, another bombardment of energy infrastructureby Kiev’s troops led to power shortages in the village of Stepnoye in Krasnoyaruzhsky District, it added.

The Kremlin said that Russia is abiding by the truce and has refrained from targeting Ukrainian energy facilities in order to build goodwill with Washington, but it also warned that Moscow reserves the right to pull out of the 30-day agreement early if it is not honored by Kiev.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has previously suggested thatUkraine is deliberately violating the partial ceasefire in an attempt to undermine peace initiatives and the dialogue between Russia and the US.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has gone viral after a photo of her hiding in the Oval Office was published during an unannounced visit to the Oval Office. The photo, which was snapped by a New York Times photographer, shows the Democratic governor dressed in blue ( a color befitting her political party), hiding her face with blue folders and flanked by two staffers.

It was reported that Whitmer, who had previously been meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, stood glumly in the corner of the president's office almost as if she was praying no one from the White House Press Corps would notice her presence.

Whitmer, who is currently being seen as a frontrunner for the 2028 Democratic presidential nominee, was meeting with the president to discuss funding for an Air National Guard base near Detroit and aid for thousands of Michiganders who had just been hit by an ice storm.

It was reported that the Michigan Governor was escorted by a pair of Trump aides to the Oval Office, not for her one-on-one meeting with Trump, but for an unscheduled and politically loaded appearance before the press corps.

The meeting also reportedly came after Whitmore split from the party line regard Trump's infamous Liberation Day tariffs.

”We’re honoured to have Gretchen Whitmer from Michigan, the great state of Michigan — she’s really done an excellent job,” Trump said during the spectacle, during which he signed an executive order that would “make showers great again." During the awkward meeting, Trump repeated his false claim that the 2020 election, in which Whitmer was called “that woman from Michigan” by the president.

Whitmer's office later issued a statement insisting that “her presence is not an endorsement of the actions taken or statements made at that event." Several Democrats have proclaimed that the governor had been played by Trump and his administration. “Just a f-g disaster,” a Democratic staffer seethed to NBC. “It feels like it removes some of the momentum she had as a politically savvy swing-state Dem.”

It had previously been reported that Whitmer had penned a handwritten letter to Trump the day after his inauguration, congratulating him on his victory and said she looked forward to working together and praising his support for the auto industry in his first address.

The letter also allegedly contained her cellphone number and invited Trump to call her if she could be of any help to him. Whitemer had also shocked several members of her own party when she allegedly called on Democrats to find common ground with Trump, expressing understanding of his “motivations” behind his sweeping roll-out of tariffs that sparked a global trade war.

“Tariffs need to be used like a scalpel, not a hammer,” Ms Whitmer said. “Unfortunately, it’s unclear how this is going to strategically benefit the American economy or the American consumer.” She added: “We do need to make more stuff in America — more cars and chips, more steel and ships. We do need fair trade.”

The World Press Photo Foundation has blocked the winner of its 2025 contest, Mikhail Tereshchenko, from attending next month’s awards ceremony in Amsterdam.The reversal was announced after Georgian anti-government activists complainedthat a Russian journalist had been praised for covering protests in Tbilisi.== (The EU has been conducting another color revolution in Georgia, so they are behind it.)

Tereshchenko, who has been a TASS staff photographer since 2017 andis known for his expressive imagery, was recognized for a photo series documenting mass anti-government protests in Georgia last year.

The jury, judging his work anonymously, praised the series for highlighting the “use of fireworksas a new urban weapon” and for capturing the dynamics of “democratic movements.”However, when the author’s identity was revealed, activists claimed they were “worried and offended” by the recognition of a Russian state media photojournalist.

World Press Photoadmitted that “the authenticity of the photographs themselves, and the events they document are not in question=” – but caved to activist pressure and announced on Friday that “Mikhail Tereshchenko is no longer invited to the winners programme and the award ceremony in Amsterdam.”

“Given the increased tensions on the European continent, at this stage we are no longer able to facilitate a guest from a state-controlled Russian organisation.”

Moscow denounced the move as politically motivated discrimination, with Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova calling it “a self-inflicted wound” on World Press Photo’s reputation.

“This is such a disgraceful [excuse] that they would be better off staying silent. The question arises: will only photographs with neutral subjects – nature, flowers, butterflies – be accepted for the competition?” she wrote on Telegram on Saturday.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov saidthe move “defies common sense and goes against the spirit of journalistic solidarity.” Meanwhile, the head of the State Duma’s International Affairs Committee, Leonid Slutsky, labeled the decision “cancel culture,” accusing Europe of discriminating against Russians “on the basis of their ethnicity.”

Established in 1955, the World Press Photo Foundation is widely regarded asthe world’s most prestigious photojournalism competition, with the statedmission to “connect the world to the stories that matter.” Zakharova noted that TASS photographers have received more than 25 World Press Photo awards between 1956 and 1992.

East European state invites up to 150,000 Pakistanis

Proper conditions will be created for the migrant laborers from the South Asian country, the Belarusian president has said

Belarus will soon accept up to 150,000 migrant workers from Pakistan, the Eastern European country’s president, Alexander Lukashenko, has said.

Lukashenko made the announcement after a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Minsk on Friday.

The Belarusian leader said that Sharif and himhad agreed that “in the near future [Pakistani] specialists in various fields will be sent [to Belarus]; the fields of our choosing. The leadership of Pakistan will help us select such people.”

“Let it be 100,000 or maybe 120,000 or 150,000 of these specialists. We are ready to accept them in Belarus and create the necessary conditions for them to work here,” he said.

The Pakistani prime minister assured that the workers that his countrywill be sending to Belarus will be “highly qualified and capable of providing real help to your country.”

“They are hardworking, they have skills, they have families to support.They can create the very bridge that we are building between Minsk and Islamabad,”he said.

Sharif thanked Lukashenko, whom he described as his “brother,” for inviting the migrant workers. “Believe me, this offer made my day,” he said.

Just over 60,000 migrant workers were employed in Belarus, which has a population of about 9.1 million, in 2024, the country’s deputy trade minister, Tatyana Astreiko, said in November. Around 40% of them were Russians, she added.

”We understand that domestic labor resources are limited.Foreign migrants are being brought in to provide employers with personnel. This is a given and an inevitability,” Astreiko stressed.

There has been a spike in the flow of migrants across the border between Belarus and Poland since 2021. Last year, around 2,500 crossings into the EU country were recorded every month, despite Warsaw constructing a border fence and pushing back large groups of people.

The Polish Foreign Ministry has claimed that Belarus is deliberately inviting asylum seekers in and instructing them to enter Poland, at the behest of the Russian security services. Moscow and Minsk have both denied any role in the migrant influx.

Most of the refugees are from the Middle East and North Africa and enter Polandin order to travel onward to Western Europe, where benefits for asylum seekers are more generous.
