Critics of President Trump attacked him for dancing Monday during his first rally since contracting COVID-19 earlier this month.

Former basketball player Rex Chapman tweeted, “215,000 dead Americans and he’s out there doing this," accompanied by a video of the president dancing to the “YMCA.”

Others echoed Chapman in showing their disapproval with his dancing.

The iconic song’s writer, Victor Willis of the Village People, said in September that Trump and his campaign are welcomed to continue using "YMCA" during rallies.

“’YMCA’ is everybody’s anthem and go-to song for fun. As for the president’s use, I have not granted permission for use at his rallies because permission is not required,” Willis told Bloomberg News through a spokesman.

“If I were a Trump hater, maybe I’d sue him simply out of spite,” Willis said. “I am not, and I’m not going to have my lawyers sue the president. But he should at least do the ‘YMCA’ dance while he’s at it.”
