Russia’s efforts to host the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and Brics summits with physical presence of the leaders is being overshadowed by China’s move to amass troops in eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control.

While the disengagement process has been initiated, PLA troops continue to be amassed, casting a shadow over the two non-Western plurilaterals of which Russia holds the current presidency, ET has reliably gathered.
