The Georgia House of Representatives passed a bill Friday that would allow voters to decide whether they want to abolish county police departments, putting the fate of the much-maligned Glynn County Police Department in jeopardy following its handling of the Ahmaud Arbery shooting.
Arbery was an unarmed black Georgia jogger who was allegedly gunned down by a white father and son with ties to local authorities while their neighbor captured the grisly incident on his cell phone video. All three were charged with murder but only after the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in following weeks of inaction by local authorities and prosecutors.

It is just the county police they want to abolish, so there will still be state cops

>it's just the county police
This sets an extremely dangerous precedent! Imagine if the City of Miami could disband the Dade County Sheriff with a vote! The City of Atlanta could abolish Fulton County police! You have to understand how jurisdictions of authority work. What this boils down to is that a liberal mega-city like Chicago can "disarm" the surrounding suburbs by disbanding their sheriffs and deputies. Small towns that aren't large enough to fund their own city police departments will have to rely on state police. This gives criminals incentive to operate outside of big cities and target rural areas. It's a surefire way to cause militias to form in these areas which is a good thing. I don't see this bill getting too far before it gets challenged and overturned.

This is going to be good. Let America see what these animals are like when there's no police and they're left to their own devices.
