Facebook has perennially had problems with rightist activity on the platform. The best-known instance was during the Trump campaign, when they fired the fact-checkers because the Trump campaign lied more than the Clinton and Sanders campaigns did.
However, rightist groups routinely use flagging to silence people they dislike (TERF groups, in particular, are known for this.). Boomer-tier bullshit forwards - you know the type, "Alex Jones has exposed the globalist plot to flouridate your BLOOD with VACCINES in the CHEMTRAILS!" spread heavily there. (Bolsie's campaign apparently made heavy use of bullshit forwards to mobilize voters, to the point where one of his campaign issues was *lowering the limit on WhatsApp forwards). Antivaxxers used it to organize support for the measles attack on Samoa in 2019. Genocidaires in Burma and I think Sri Lanka have used it to forward propaganda. I'm pretty sure the more criminal elements of Modi's party have used it for operational purposes. Wakefield's group uses it heavily to promote their propaganda.
The left generally hates Facebook because of this. The leadership has generally blown off calls to address rightist bias because, while the WORKERS are mostly centrists, the LEADERS are righties.
Then came Corona-chan. It's just a flu, man… and fifteen dead Americans, fifty dead Americans, five thousand dead Americans, fifty thousand dead Americans.
And the thing is - yeah, Zuck and Thiel are righties. But they live in America. And they're looking around and seeing thousands of their countrymen dying in a biological attack orchestrated by the very same rightist movement they've been coddling. And they're looking at a couple hard pills they have to swallow. One is the aluminium pill, all shiny with vaccine adjuvants. That's the realization that being a rich asshole doesn't make you coof-proof.
The other pill, though, is the realization that the people who keep talking about wanting to oven every lib in the country don't just WANT to do it and INTEND to do it. The people who want to oven every lib, Jew, and homosexual in the country are taking advantage of every opportunity they get to do it IRL. Even when it means killing conservative boomers wholesale, they still go ahead and spread the virus. The traitors are inside the gates, and they are attacking NOW.
This is the iron pill.
